Mobile Broadband and add new connection and follow the steps to setup the connection.
Also put the DNS server addresses followed by comma.
i.e 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
It will be like this:

<img style="display:block; Instead of mailing it there is a cool way of doing it by streaming it.
VLC has inbuilt streaming server capabilities.
So, lets get started.

1. Looking around : First choose a port through which you wish to stream the media. It can be any port that is not currently being used by other program.
For this example I have chosen 8475. Now all you need is to open up this port in your firewall. I have done this example in Fedora hence I go to Administration >> Firewall >> Other Ports >> Add
and add the tcp port 8475 and click apply.

2. Tempting the mind

1. Open VLC
2. Click Media >> Streaming
Then click Add and select the media you wish to stream.
3. Click Stream
4. Click Next
5. From new destination select HTTP and click add. Give the address as your IP address and port as the port opened by you.
In this example I have selected to stream a mp3 and so I have selected the profile as Audio-MP3. You can choose according to your wish. Now it should look like this.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/Swowq5wn0LI/AAAAAAAAD0Q/bR-AUKXL2xo/s320/6.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407187816229097650" />

Click stream and you are done streaming.

Some misc notes.
1. The streaming media will not play in your own machine if the display locally is not selected.
2. You can change the quality of the stream by changing various settings in the transcoding options. Lower quality streaming will save bandwidth.

Now once this is done simply ask your friend/friends to Open vlc or any other player that supports network playing and play the URL.
In VLC it will be Media >> Open Network stream >> Select protocol as HTTP >> the address as Follwing URL.
http://[Your IP address]:[The port you opened]
Eg: http://59.93.244.245:8475

So done.

God is Good

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 206px; height: 277px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SmBi3XsfMqI/AAAAAAAADzw/943eEIKOb0A/s320/god_is_good.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5359392259963826850" />

Creation of God
Man from it's mere existence has tried to scoop out something to negotiate with the mind of others or it's own. This feeling has it's product as God. By and by God has changed shapes, forms and has disintegrated to occupy the needs of society.
The Harappan civilization for example used to worship pashupati the god of animals, and the early Aryans too used to worship nature. As time passed God slowly started being used to create a sense of fidelity, spirituality and social obligations. As man started inventing and getting involved with it's own nature, God too started to get involved. Be it mere disputes or big wars God started having affect on these, and as machines started being used heavily God also transformed into machines. Today, we Hindus worship machines and take it as a form of Viswakarma.
So, in general God does not have a superficial structure and man's imagination has transformed it to the current form it occupies now.

Current trend
Due to rocketing advancement in the field of science and tight schedule in man's life, God has lost a lot of ground it used to enjoy previously, and currently the thought of God strike us only during rough times. Many of us who want to create an air of spirituality around themselves go one step ahead and aesthetically use God as wallpaper of our computer or mobile screens, giving rise to Hi-tech Spirituality.
May be it's a Hi-tech world, a world ruled by science and in the coming years technology is going to fly higher, yet one thing will always be true, each and everyone of us need God very badly. Because, it gives a sense of security, a sense of fidelity, a sense of hope, a sense of motivation, a sense that can help in character building. And one more thing "Good will always be Good".

10000 atlast

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SlTI2KW2m0I/AAAAAAAADzg/9ahmKiuFeKk/s320/jp.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356126689669061442" />

At last I completed my 10000 google searches. In this post I am putting up a story I had written at that time and was hailed by my English teacher Chitra Miss as 'very well written!!'. I am reproducing the story word to word as it is in my home work copy.
This will give the insight about the fantasies my young mind used to nurture.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 302px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SlSZpZVonfI/AAAAAAAADy0/i-EgREbXLss/s400/C014_Boone_Scenic_Valley_Railroad_Boone.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356074793305677298" />

If only I had signed the bill then I would not have been in such a condition. Condition....oh! yes I would not have been tied to the piers of the rail bridge.
The sun was at it's full glare and perspiration overruled the three of us. Me, and the other two hooligans who were forcing me to sign a bill. Dark nimbus clouds could be seen in the horizon. The bill .... ah yes, it was one of the closely guarded articles of the company I used to work. One of those fouls had a revolver pointed towards me while the other other had the bill and a pen.
"Sign it soon, we do not have much time to spare", boomed one of them and charging towards me struck me with the barrel of the revolver. An acute pain whizzed through my brain and then I know nothing.
I was awaken by a long drawn shrill sound. I gazed at it, a train is approaching grandly whistling to it's heart. Then one voice uttered, "Sign it soon, else we won't untie you and you will be left to die in the most horrible way."
Once again I looked at the train. It was feeling as if the cheering power of spring, whistling and singing slowly approaching. But the odds were in excess as by this time the nimbus clouds stretched the whole sky. The sky looked eerie.
Death to me seemed to approach like a caterpillar. For a moment I remained still. It was the time for me to discover the eternal truth of life, yes death it is and we are mere puppets before the mighty hands of death.
Nearer and nearer came the train along with my death."But no ...no...there is one way of getting rid of this death.... yes one way..., if I sign that bill", I said to myself.
At this particular time I was utmost practical. I stretched out my hands, then I put death in one hand and suffering of the poor laborers on the other and asked the most difficult question to my conscience about which one being heavier. The answer I got was the suffering of the poor laborers. "No ! by no way I am going to sign the bill which may even cost my life. If I sign the bill then these hooligans can gobble up the whole monthly salary of 5000 poor laborer of my company", I murmured to myself, as the miserable faces of those poor workers came flashing in my memory. Then again I heard the same long hooting whistle of the train. I looked at it, by this time it had proceeded further and had by now reached the head of the bridge.
"Just 30 seconds left and you are a dead man. Last chance, sign quickly", barked out one of those rubbish fouls. But I stuck to my determination and boomed " NO never".
Losing hope they left me alone to die.
I closed my eyes. Only the chugging sound was audible to me but no along with that I could also hear the death knell of those two persons being rung by the devil himself.
"NO" I could not bear it as I longed to see the eternal truth by my own eyes I opened them.
The lively death was about 100 feet away.... now about 80 feet....it's about 50 feet now when breaking all laws of science I could see a glazing flash .... a flash of lightning and following that the engine stopped just 10 feet away from my body of bones and muscles.
"The engine has gone out of order", said one voice from the con justed drivers room. It followed this, "It might have been the high voltage created by the lightning that our electric engine jammed."
The rest is like a dream to me. Highly exhausted I offered a deep breathed prayer to God and wondered about the lightning. Lightning just two feet away and I was standing quite aware that I was alive. It was clear to me that just seconds back "Nature's law was broken".
I gave a cry for help. Out came some persons who showed pity upon my state. I narrated them the whole incident. In a moment I was in the comfort of an AC compartment. No sooner had I seated myself then a heavy downpour began. After about an hour the train recovered and with the same whistling sound grandly moved ahead.
It was about evening, i reached home had a comfortable nap.
Next morning while hastily going through the morning newspaper my eyes caught an article, it read " Last afternoon during the heavy downpour two persons were killed by lightning as they tried to take shelter under a tree." Beside the article were the pictures of those two hooligans, who were forcing me to sign the bill.... who left me in front of sure death.
"The lightning did it again", I cried out of utter joy.
"Yes ! nemesis exists ", I said as tears rolled down my cheek.
And then I boldly declared,"You Omnipotent, You Omnipresent....God, I have discovered, I have seen you....Yes", but was soon depressed as I realized that I had no other proof except my thoughts and ......the lightning.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 170px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SlSauhi7hcI/AAAAAAAADzE/dm7DRlxeN5Y/s200/lightning.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356075980919899586" />

Women empowerment, are we really taking the right steps towards it ?

We live in a so called west-adulterated society. This metamorphosis has not been all of a sudden but it has slowly crawled in. The real wonder is the position of women.
In a society ruled by men, when we are slowly approaching an end to the discrimination based on gender erupts quotas for women, special trains for working feminine gender, and different queues for ladies near the ticket counters of cinema halls, railway stations.
We talk about 'women empowerment' and this is how we empower women ?
Now some will advocate that being a suppressed gender for long, mentally women has weakened by time and do need some relaxation. But, I think actual progress is something that can't be achieved by a relaxation in merit and having a feeling in someone that 'you' are privileged.
History has been the proof that development has been achieved by mere will of development. Be it our famous Jhansi Rani Laxmi bai giving fight back to the British, Joan of Arc a peasant girl leading the french army to several battles, or Helen Keller who needs no introduction. There are myriad examples of a suppressed race fighting back due to the mere will of doing so.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 281px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SlSAo1t7cEI/AAAAAAAADys/LRWwCsNa144/s400/Women-Empowerment.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356047295953203266" />
So, I feel instead of raining special privileges to women, protecting women rights should be given a better thought. There should be works such that women should feel that they are no feebler than others and they too need to work putting on the same shoes as the men does. There should be work that will make women feel the need of progress and need of having stronger impact on the society and not giving them relaxation and letting them feel feebler. If you remember one of the most captivating movies of recent time Black you will notice how glibly it portrays the nature of treatment a handicapped child should get. The same type of treatment should be imposed on women and they should not allowed to feel privileged only then can we realize 'women empowerment'.

Four years of 'Love', 'Life', & 'Linux'

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 308px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SlTGmSh6E-I/AAAAAAAADzQ/TpPqyIngHik/s320/love2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356124217961747426" />
A myriad thoughts amble through my mind. I am reproducing the letter word to word with her permission. It is a typical love letter and I wrote what ever I could as I was very much nervous.

Anyway here goes the letter:

[PAGE ONE]

DEAR LOVE:
You know I have known people who think life is an enigma.........I have known people who think death is a charisma........but you know I have known a world who do not know what love is ??????
Do you know what is love ??
I am sure you will definitely come out with some definitions of love. "You see love is this...." "You see love is that......" and bla bla........all those rubbish talks. I am also sure all that definitions you will give about love will never match with the definition of love given by some other person. So, you see love is not definite. It varies from person to person........environment to environment .......outlook to outlook.....gender to gender .....and

But, wait ........ if ......if each and every blink of my eye want to see you, just you do you think I am in love?........if each and every step I take, I want to take with you do you think I am in love........if each and every thought that creates a whirlpool in the lake of my mind and I want to share it with you do you think I am in love........

So, do you think I am in love ??

"The answer is up to you ......."

But.........wait ya..........

[PAGE TWO]

wait again ........

Now, if you ask what is love?
I'd just say.....
read out the first line of the letter...........could you follow what is love for me.........

C'mon turn the page and read the two words written in block letter

"You are love"
your's Jibesh

She did exactly what I asked her to do. She took the letter and did not open it till she reached hostel.[She says so]
To be continued....

Some of my first timers..... (1) the first time I ever saw a 'Computer'

It was year 1997 I was in my fifth standard. Those days I used to be in Sarada Convent school, Jagdalpur [those days MP]. Now, during the admissions it was announced that computer education will be introduced and all the students had to pay some amount for the computer education fund.
After we returned from summer vacation [class 5] we could see a small room being furnished with well cushioned checkered board design floor. It was around 1 and half months later we could see big brown boxes piled up near the newly furnished room. We tried to catch a glimpse of the wonder machine but were shooed away. We always used to stare at the closed curtains while passing by the room.
Now, after that incident around 2 months later one day we all were called to have a trip the well furnished room. That was the first time I saw a computer. All I remember of that computer is a very small BW monitor, the keyboard and the mouse.
Now, was the time to be amazed. The person operating the computer showed us how standing there we could see the current time of America, Japan, and India simultaneously. This was the sole thing we knew a computer could do. This incident became talk of 'town' for many days.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lovelifeandlinux.blogspot.com/2009/05/some-of-my-first-timers-1-first-time-i.html' title='Some of my first timers..... The total search activity is for around 1 year 9 months. You can see the month of July has the lowest score in my search activity with only 206 searches. Now the reason for this I suppose is, I have always been in Kolkata in the month of July for summer training.
Strangely enough monday enjoys highest searches. I don't have any reason why this might have happened. Moreover friday has got the lowest searches. May be, I get charged up at the start of week and then suddenly the battery discharges at the end of the week.

And one more thing, I have searches round the clock.
I usually wake up at 6-7 'o clock and go to bed at around 11:30 to 12:00.
My search trend speak it all.

Sending files using obexftp

The easiest way of programming python for Symbian s60 is to write the codes in your laptop and save it with .py extension. A mobile phone running Symbian S60 [ Mostly Nokia phones ]
2. A laptop having Bluetooth or desktop with the Bluetooth dongle attached and running fedora. [Windows will also do, but this discussion is not for windows]
Now python is my latest love. To install python in you symbian S60 phone (mostly Nokia phones) follow this link (choose the appropriate version of python according to your phone's os version). Nokia N70, N73 are mostly symbian s60 second edition feature pack 2. Anyway if you are confused about the version of Symbian OS in your Nokia phone follow these steps.

From Menu >> Tools >> Utilities >> About [Here you will find the OS version (Tested in my Nokia N76 might be a bit different in other models)]

Download two files from the above link :

1. Python for S60
2. Python script shell

Both the files are .SIS files and you can easily push the files to your mobile phone using obexftp.

If you don't know how to use obexftp (which I'll cover later) then from gnome you need to right click on the file and click on send to >> select send as Bluetooth >> Send (phone model).

Now you will receive the files as a text message. Install the files and now you are done installing python in your Nokia phone.

You can program python in your phone using the interactive console. Now this method is very much tiresome.
So all we need is a bluetooth console connection with our laptop so that we will write the program in our laptop but it will run in our phone.

For this we need to setup a serial port emulator in our Laptop.
We will use rfcomm for emulating serial port connection over bluetooth.

For this we use the following command:

mknod -m 76 rfcomm0 c 216 0

Now use the following commnd:

rfcomm listen /dev/rfcomm0 3
[And you will get the out put as following]
Waiting for connection on channel 3

At this point from the phone's python application select 'Bluetooth Console' and then select the Laptop to connect to.
Once you have selected that follow instructed steps and you are done with emulated bluetooth connection.
The following screen shot shows how the terminal will look after the connection is setup.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 61px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgeW3W6uaxI/AAAAAAAADPI/aSsxxbv-1Uk/s400/b.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334398161432505106" />

Now what you need is to setup minicom in fedora to bring up the python console to the laptop.
Before firing minicom we need some setup. So, run the following command:

minicom -s

And follow as given in the screen shots below ------->

1.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 251px; height: 201px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgeYzBb-rXI/AAAAAAAADPQ/VCUiafoSxKY/s400/b3.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334400285970181490" />
2.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 190px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgeY7wc0fgI/AAAAAAAADPY/Y0cwDYCNiqU/s400/b4.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334400436029128194" />

Save and Exit.

Now run the following command:

minicom -o /dev/rfcomm0

Voila !! You are done and you get your phone's python console on your Laptop

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 244px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/Sgeaezf9HQI/AAAAAAAADPg/SNww3bnh8MI/s400/o.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334402137654631682" />

Now test it using these python (Python for S60) codes:
>>> import appuifw
>>> appuifw.note(u"Hello Jibesh","info")

Happy Pythoning

Nostalgia Knocking

Nostalgia Knocking was the blog that I prepared last time reunion was organized in our college. Last year during that reunion it was a scene to behold. The gathering seniors ( though there only few of them ) were so happy together.

By and by this blog became obsolete, though as of today you can still find it's link in the home page of our college website [notice board] and with no reunion being organized this year the importance of this blog lessened further.

So going through my blogger dashboard I thought of deleting the blog. But, at the point of deletion my heart went heavy and just thinking that I am no more a part of the college tears rolled down through my eyes.
So I thought why erase the truth............ really Nostalgia is Knocking now !!

A beginners guide to Fedora

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 198px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgaE46_k0MI/AAAAAAAADOo/EVmnFz_vf14/s200/fedora-logo.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334096922110382274" />
Fedora has been the operating system of my choice. From my experience I have seen that the real hurdle is installing and setting up a running fedora system that support some basic features like internet access, playing music and videos.
For any one installing fedora for the first time I have certain quick tips.
For any fedora installations I recommend at least 10 GB hard disk space. If you are using Windows XP then from management create a 10 GB partition.

Now, while installing fedora select manually edit partitions, delete that 10 GB partition. After that :
1. Create an optimal swap partition. [ Use between 600-900 MB if you don't have a clue what to put ]
2. For the rest create : ext3 partition , mount point /, and select to allocate full

It would be better if you have Partition magic. Using partition magic create a partition of 10GB and format it to linux partition. Now while installing fedora select remove linux partitions and create a default layout.

That's what you need to know while installing.

Now the next step is get internet running in your fedora system.
If it's a dsl connection you have got then simply open up a terminal and run the following command.

pppoe-setup

Follow the instructions and you are set to go further.

Having done that I feel you need sound and video to work in your system. Well that's not a thing to worry about. All you need is to download Easylife for fedora.
This small software will take care of all steps of configuring sound, video and many
other optimal configuration.

That's it..... what more do you want, you have done it all.
Be happy with Linux.

Anonymity in the Internet

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 299px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgYxYId8gaI/AAAAAAAADOA/iWp9egJCr14/s320/mardi_gras_mask-12023.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334005099326636450" />
There can be many occasions where you want to be anonymous on the Internet. Now the major question how to make this happen.
Lets get started =-

What I have made use of :
1. Tor network
2. Vidalia [GUI for Tor]
3. Privoxy
4. Proxychains
5. Some firefox, opera and nmap tricks

Actually speaking about firefox and opera there is nothing called 'trick' here. Everything is pretty much simple.

Firefox:
Edit >> Preference >> Advanced >> Network >> Settings >> Manual Proxy Configuration

Opera:
Ctrl+F12 >> Advanced >> Network >> Proxy Servers

Search for proxy servers and try setting them up.
I have limited success rate in this field.

Now come to the real world. We need to install Tor, Vidalia, proxychains and privoxy
In fedora it's very simple

yum install tor vidalia privoxy proxychains

Now from terminal simple type vidalia or from Gnome menu select Applications >> Internet >> Vidalia

<img style="float:right; hacking is one of the easiest of all hacking techniques. And most of us using Windows NT based systems like XP Professional are vulnerable to this method. Before learning to save our systems from these kind of attacks lets understand the core concepts behind netbios hacking and actually learn it.
Without much more boring intro lets get into work.

Software used by me:

1. Fedora 10
2. Samba
3. nmap

Apart from these I have used python to automate some tasks. Now if you don't have any experience with python you need not worry, as you can always manually do the same tasks or better run the python scripts I provide without even understanding them.

The screen shots I have used here are taken while I was experimenting the hack in our college local area network.

Steps how we will do it ?

1. Port-scan to look for any open netbios port on a particular machine [ Obviously running Windows ].
2. View the username and workgroup name of the remote machine
3. Gain access into the machine using that username
4. View shared drives and folder
5. Gain access to all shared drives and folders
6. Be happy :-)

And one more thing. Experimenting the hack in your local network, you will not feel any difference because in local network you already have got the access to all shared folders and drives, the real fun comes out when you try it in the internet. But one word of warning here, always use a remote PC u have got legitimate access else you can end up behind bars or even paying up heavy fines.

Ok now move on and start with the actual stuffs.

1. "Hovering around"

Ok now you have got a Linux machine running in your system. First of all check for samba installation in your system.
In Fedora, Red Hat linux or Open Suse run the following command

rpm -qa samba

If you have got samba installed in your system you will get the output in this way.

[Jibesh@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa samba
samba-3.2.11-0.30.fc10.i386

else

[Jibesh@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa samba
package samba is not installed

If you see that samba is not installed you need to install it.
For Fedora install samba using the following command.

yum install samba

Similarly for other Linux distributions all you need is to check for installed samba if not install it.

I hope 'nmap' is already installed in your Linux distribution if not install it using the above procedure.

2. "Licking Lips"

All installations in place we now ready to move on.
Suppose our target machine has got the IP address 192.9.200.58

Now run the following command:

nmap -T5 -sV -O 192.9.200.58

In the output you can see a lot of information. You can see the open ports, a guess of the operating system running in the remote machine, uptime and lots of other infos.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 226px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgT0dlhT1TI/AAAAAAAADNA/QrdWGwGQYSY/s400/netbios+6.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333656647838717234" />

In the above screen shot we can see that port 139 netbios-ssn is open. Now is the type of PC we need, to hack into.

next run the following command

nmblookup -A 192.9.200.58

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 73px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgT2XgAbj-I/AAAAAAAADNI/-HJFBcNoPB4/s400/netbios1.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333658742302674914" />

Look at the screen shot above. In the output you can see the username as BUIEE and the Workgroup as MSHOME

So we got the username we need. Well that's cool lets move on.

Now run the following command

smbclient -L BUIEE -I 192.9.200.58

[Change the username and IP addresses accordingly]

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 153px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgT35jp9vzI/AAAAAAAADNQ/1bXyPyGCX58/s400/netbios+2.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333660426909368114" />

We can view all the sharenames as in the above screenshot.

Now as we see, the sharenames we will be able to access are SharedDocs, Subha_Share, D and Asima_Share

Now suppose we want to access the D drive all we do is.

smbclient //BUIEE/D -I 192.9.200.58 -N

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 106px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgT6Ij3ScEI/AAAAAAAADNY/OOyEhaiAU5g/s400/netbios+4.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333662883686543426" />

Voila you just got into the target machine.
Now type 'help' if you want to look for things you can do once you are in here.

Happy Hacking

3. "Load Balancing"

The above hack made use of the poorly done sharing in Windows machines, so it will not work without any open netbios port and any shared drives and folders.

4. "Auto pilot"

It's not easy to look for open netbios ports manually by running the 'nmap' utility over and over.
How about a program does this for you.
The program that I have developed here will iterate through the network and demonstrate open ports, OS versions etc. where ever possible.

It's a python script and it goes like this:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 131px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_--mpkh3e4p4/SgT_9KKu7TI/AAAAAAAADNo/TFSHisUdOZY/s400/cuting.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333669284879985970" />

Simply open a texteditor and write the above code and save it as 'scanner.py'.
Tweak the code according to the IP address of your network.

Now run it using the command
[Check if python is already installed in your machine. If not install using former procedure]

python scanner.py

Well now isn't it cool, the 'nmap' utility is automated.

Saving your ass:
Doing simple registry tweaks and settings can save our system from this kind of attacks.

1. Grinding the registry
Open up Start >> run >> regedit
Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Parameters Name: AutoShareWks Data Type: REG_DWORD Value: 0
If it does not exists then create it.

You are done. If you need to enable shares back again just change the value to 1.

2. It's only you
Disable guest account and also disable anonymous user access

That's it.

Mantra

I do not consider myself the love guru but I feel, Love is the mantra of simply 'anything'.
